Splits an entity into two entities. You can split, or remove the ends from, lines, arcs, circles, polylines, infinite lines, rays, ellipses, splines and donuts.

  1. Selects the entity and its first break point on the entity.
  2. Specify the second break point on the entity.

Replace

Select entity to break: Select the entity you want to break.

[First break point/Split]<Second break point>: Specify the second break point. By default, the program assumes that the point you specified when selecting an entity is the first break point that you want. To specify a first break point that is different from the selection point, choose First break point. To break the selected entity at a single point, choose Split.

  1. Select the entity to break.
  2. Specify the first break point on the entity.
  3. Specify the second break point on the entity.

Replace

First break point: Specify the first point at which you want to break the entity.

Second break point: Specify the second break point. If the point specified is the same as the first break point, the selected entity is split into two separate entities without a gap between them (the Split option equivalent).

NOTE You can split only open two-dimensional entities, such as lines, infinite lines, rays or open polylines, at a single break point.

TIP To specify the same point for both the first and second break points, you can also enter the at sign (@) in the command line when you are prompted to specify the second point.
