Draws a duplicate of the selected entities. You can draw multiple copies from a single selection, and you can specify the base and displacement points. The entities you select to copy are not moved from their original location. The entities you copy maintain all the attributes (such as linetype, color, and layer) of the original entities.

 

 

  1. Select the entity you want to copy.
  2. Specify the base point.
  3. Specify the displacement point for the copy.

Result.

FILter/<Select entities to copy>: Select the entities you want to copy. Choose FILter to filter the selection by properties.

Specify base point or [Displacement/mOde] <Displacement>: Specify the base point to use for placement of the copies. To specify a relative distance and direction using coordinates, choose Displacement. To set whether the command repeats automatically or ends after a single copy is created, choose Mode (corresponds to the COPYMODE system variable).

To copy entities by selecting the base point

 

 

  1. Select the entity you want to copy.
  2. Specify the base point.
  3. Specify the displacement point for the copy.

Result.

Select the base point. The base point need not be anywhere near the entity being copied.

Specify second point or [Array] <use first point as displacement>: Specify a second point, or press Enter to use the first point as the displacement. The copy of the entity is placed at a point that is the difference between the point you used to select the entity and the base point you specified.

Specify second point or [Array/Exit/Undo]<Exit>: Specify another point for creating multiple copies. Choose Array to create multiple copies of the selected entity in a linear array. Press Enter, or choose Exit, to end the command. Choose Undo to cancel the previous action (input).

To prompt for single copies only

Choose Mode.

Enter a copy mode option [Single/Multiple] <Multiple>: Choose Single. The command ends after a single copy is created. When set to Single, an additional prompt for Multiple displays which you can use to temporarily override the Single setting for the duration of the command.

To copy entities in a linear array

FILter/<Select entities to copy>: Select the entities that you want to copy. Choose FILter to filter the selection by properties.

Specify base point or [Displacement/mOde] <Displacement>: Specify the start point of the line along which you want to place entities.

Specify second point or [Array] <use first point as displacement>: Choose Array.

Enter number of items to array: Enter the total number of items you want in the array including the original selection.

Specify second point or [Fit]: Specify a point which determines the distance and direction for the array relative to the base point. By default, the first copy in the array is placed at this point and the remaining copies are placed beyond that point at the same incremental distance and in the same direction. Or if you choose Fit, the last copy in the array is placed at the second point and the remaining copies are fit in between the original selection set and the last copy at an equal distance.
