Draws an architectural stair. Stairs can be of different types (straight, spiral, etc.) and of different styles (standard, concrete, cantilever, wood, steel, etc.).

To draw a stair with the current values

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Specify the start point of the stair.

Specify end point or enter the length of stair segment or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Undo]: Specify the endpoint of the stair.

To draw a stair with specific values

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Tread.

Specify stair tread depth: Enter the depth of the stair tread.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Width.

Specify stair width <40.0000>: Enter the width of the stair.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Height.

Specify stair height <120.0000>: Enter the height of the stair.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Justification.

Select stair justification [Left/Center/Right/Baseline] <Center>: Choose how the stair will be justified relative to the points you select when drawing the stair.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Style.

? to list/Specify stair style name <Standard>: Enter the name of the stair style. To view a list of all stair styles, choose ?.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Type.

Select stair type [Straight/QLanding/HLanding/SPiral/UShaped]<Straight>: Choose the type of the stair.

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Specify the start point of the stair.

Specify end point or enter the length of stair segment or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Undo]: Specify the endpoint of the stair.

To convert entities to stairs

Specify start point of stair or [TRead<11.0000>/Width<40.0000>/Height<120.0000>/Justification<Center>/Style<Standard>/Type<Straight>/Attach/Convert]: Choose Convert.

Select lines, arcs, circles, or polylines to be converted to stairs: Select the entities to convert to stairs, then press Enter.

Erase layout geometry? [Yes/No] <No>: Choose Yes to delete the selected entities. Choose No to retain the selected entities.


Edit the stair.

After you draw a stair, you can modify it as you would other entities using modify entity commands. You can also use the Properties pane to change the stair width, tread dimensions, landing dimensions, turn on/off stringers, etc. And when you select a stair, grips display allowing you to resize and reorient the stair in real-time. When a stair is modified, any attached railings are updated to match the stair modifications (length, angle, width, etc.).
