Breaks apart a complex entity into separate entities. The Xplode command is similar to the Explode command, but with the Xplode command you can set properties for the newly separated entities. You can use the Xplode command to break apart a block or polyline into separate elements. You may need to explode nested blocks more than once.

Select entities to XPlode: Select the entities you want to explode. After you select all entities, press Enter or right-click the mouse.

Enter an option [All/Color/LAyer/LType/LWeight/Inherit from parent block/Explode] <Explode>:

To explode selected entities and set all properties of resulting entities

Choose All.

The prompts display, as described below, for the color, layer, linetype, lineweight properties.

To explode selected entities and set the index color of resulting entities

Choose Color.

New color [Truecolor/COlorbook] <BYLAYER>: Enter a new color. You can enter a color value from the standard Windows palette (1-255), 0 for BYLAYER, 256 for BYBLOCK, or you can enter the name of one of the seven standard colors (red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, magenta, and white), or choose BYLAYER or BYBLOCK.

To explode selected entities and set the true color of resulting entities

Choose Color.

New color [Truecolor/COlorbook] <BYLAYER>: Choose Truecolor.

Red, Green, Blue: Enter the RGB value of the desired true color. The RGB value are the Red, Green, and Blue values, separated by a comma, for example: 15,105,210.

To explode selected entities and set the color book of resulting entities

Choose Color.

New color [Truecolor/COlorbook] <BYLAYER>: Choose COlorbook.

Enter Color Book name: Enter the name of the desired color book. This is the name entered in the .acb color book file using the <bookName> and </bookName> XML tags. The color book must be located in the folder where CADdirect searches for color books. By default, color books are located in the same folder where you installed CADdirect. To verify the folder location, choose Options from the Tools menu, click the Paths/Files tab, and find the Color Book folder in the Paths list.

Enter color name: Enter the name of the desired color that is available in the named color book.

To explode an entity and set the layer of resulting entities

Choose LAyer.

New layer <0>: Enter the name of the layer with which you want the entities associated.

To explode selected entities and set the linetype of resulting entities

Choose LType.

New linetype <BYLAYER>: To accept ByLayer, the default, press Enter, or enter the name of a new linetype.

If the linetype you enter is not already loaded, the program tries to load the linetype from icad.lin. If the program cannot locate the linetype in this file, use the Linetype command to load the linetype file.

To explode selected entities and set the lineweight of resulting entities

Choose LWeight.

New Lineweight <ByLayer>: To accept ByLayer, the default, press Enter, or enter a new lineweight. If you enter a value that is not one of the preset lineweights, the closest lineweight value will be assigned.

To explode selected entities and assign resulting sub-entities with the properties of the original block

Choose Inherit from parent block.

The resulting sub-entities will be assigned the same color, layer, linetype, and lineweight properties as the parent entity if the sub-entity layer is 0 and other properties are BYBLOCK.

To explode selected entities the same as when using the Explode command

Choose Explode.

The selected entities are exploded.
