New or Modify Table Style dialog box

This dialog box is used to specify options for a table style. Depending on how you accessed this dialog box, you can use it to create a new table style or modify an existing table style.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Select Table to Start From Click () to select a table in the drawing to use as a base for the table style. To remove a start table from the table style, click ().

Table Direction Choose Down to create a table that reads from top to bottom. Choose Up to create a table that reads from bottom to top.

Preview Displays a preview of a table with the style.

Cell Styles In the list, select the cell style you want to modify. The Title, Header and Data cell styles are always present in any table style. After you select a cell style, you can modify its settings using the options on the General, Text, and Borders tabs. You can also do the following:

  • Click () to create a new cell style using the Create New Cell Style dialog box that displays.
  • Click () to modify the name of the selected cell style. Enter a new name, then press Enter. (Available only if a cell style other than Title, Header, or Data is selected.)
  • Click () to delete the selected cell style. (Available only if a cell style other than Title, Header, or Data is selected.)

GENERAL TAB OPTIONS

Fill Color Select the background color of the cell.

Alignment Choose how you want text to be justified in the cell.

Format Click [...] to set the data format of the cell using the Table Cell Format dialog box that opens.

Type Choose whether the cell style is for data or a label.

Horizontal Specify the spacing between the left and right cell borders and the contents of the cell.

Vertical Specify the spacing between the top and bottom cell borders and the contents of the cell.

Merge cells on row/column creation Mark to combine new rows or columns created with the current cell style into one cell. This option can be helpful when creating a title row at the top of your table.

TEXT TAB OPTIONS

Text Style Select the text style to apply to text in the cell. Click [...] to create or modify text styles in the Text Styles Manager dialog box that opens.

Text Height Enter a value for the text height. The default value for Data and Header cell styles is 0.1800. The default value for the Title cell style is 0.2500.

Text Color Select BYBLOCK, BYLAYER, the color of your choice, or choose Select Color to select from additional colors in the Color dialog box.

Text Angle Enter a value for the angle of text. An angle of 0.0 has no affect on the characters. Positive values slant text to the right; negative values slant text to the left.

BORDER TAB OPTIONS

Lineweight Choose the lineweight to apply to the borders that you specify below.

Linetype Choose the linetype to apply to the borders that you specify below.

Color Choose the color to apply to the borders that you specify below.

Double Line Mark to display selected borders as double lines.

Spacing Enter the value for spacing between double lines. Available when Double Line is marked.

Cell Style Preview Displays a preview of the cell style with current settings.
