Subject: Modifying the settings for referenced files |

Any referenced file can be modified from the Explorer, including renaming, linking to a new location, clipping, and more. To change the name of a referenced file in the current drawing 1 Do one of the following to choose Explore External References ( • On the ribbon, choose Tools > External References (in Explorer). • On the menu, choose Tools > Explorer > Explore External References. • On the Explorer toolbar, click the Explore External Reference tool. • Type exprefs and then press Enter. 2 Do one of the following: • Select the file, choose Edit > Rename, type a new name, and then press Enter. • Click the file name you want to change, type a new name, and then press Enter. • Right-click the file name you want to change, and from the shortcut menu, select Rename, type a new name, and then press Enter. 3 To complete the command and return to your drawing, close the window.
