Subject: Shelling solids

You can create a shell or a hollow thin wall from your 3D solid entity. CADdirect offsets existing faces to create new faces.

To shell a solid

   1   Do one of the following to choose Shell ():

   On the ribbon, choose Draw 3D > Shell (in Solids Editing).

   On the menu, choose Modify > Solids Editing > Shell.

   On the Solids Editing toolbar, click the Shell tool.

   2   Select the entity you want to shell.

   3   Remove any faces you don’t want to include.

   4   Specify an offset distance.

 

Select the entity, and then select faces to remove (A) and (B), then specify an offset distance.

 

The resulting shelled entity.
