Enables points to be precisely located on reference points of existing entities.

Snaps: NEArest ◆ ENDpoint ◆ MIDpoint ◆ CENter ◆ PERpendicular ◆ TANgent ◆ QUAdrant ◆ INSertion ◆ POInt ◆ INTersection ◆ APParent ◆ ON/<Off>: To turn entity snaps off, press Enter. To turn entity snaps on, choose ON. To snap to the nearest point on an entity, choose NEArest. To snap to the endpoint of an entity, choose ENDpoint. To snap to the midpoint of an entity, choose MIDpoint. To snap to the center point of an entity, choose CENter. To snap to a point that is perpendicular to an entity, choose PERpendicular. To snap to the tangent of entity, choose TANgent. To snap to a quadrant point of an entity (arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc), choose QUAdrant. To snap to the insertion point of a block, text, or an attribute, choose INSertion. To snap to a point entity, choose POInt. To snap to the three-dimensional intersection of an entity, choose INTersection. To snap to the intersection of two entities that are not in the same plane but seem to intersect in the current view, choose APParent.


NOTE The program provides three visual indicators to show that an entity snap is turned on. When any entity snap is turned on, ESNAP appears in black on the status line. When the Entity Snaps toolbar is displayed, the entity snap tool that is on is displayed as recessed. When drawing or editing, the cursor displays icons indicating the current entity snap.
