Ribbon: Application button > Import; Insert > Import

Menu: File > Import

Keyboard: _IMPORT

Alias: IMP

Displays the Import Drawing dialog box so you can open another drawing file (.dwg) in its own window in the current drawing session. You can also open .dxf, .dxb, .dwf, .dwt, .dgn, .dae, .cel, .pdf, .rdl, .iges, .igs, .step, .ste, .stp, .obj, .stl, .xls, and .xlsx files.

NOTE The Import command is different from both the Xref Manager command, in which you can view another drawing at the same time as the current drawing, and the Block command, which inserts the imported drawing as a block.
