Pointer Input Settings dialog box

Specifies settings for specifying points during dynamic input. Pointer input is a field near the cursor that displays and accepts coordinate values when a command asks you for a point. This dialog box displays when you click Settings for pointer input on the Drawing Settings - Dynamic Input tab.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

For Second or Next Points, Default To Choose which coordinate system format to use for second or next points (this setting corresponds to the DYNPIFORMAT system variable):

  • Polar Format
  • Cartesian Format

Choose which default coordinates to use for second or next points (this setting corresponds to the DYNPICOORDS system variable):

  • Relative coordinates
  • Absolute coordinates

Show Coordinate Tooltips Choose when the pointer input tooltips display (this setting corresponds to the DYNPIVIS system variable):

  • After Starting to Type Coordinate Data Pointer input tooltips appear only when you start typing coordinate data.
  • When a Command Prompts for a Point Pointer input tooltips automatically appear when a command prompts for a point.
  • Always - Even When Not in a Command Pointer input tooltips always display.

Show '@' or '#' before coordinates Select to always display the symbol indicating the format selected in For Second or Next Points, Default To. (This setting corresponds to the DYNPIDISPMODEBOX system variable.)
